Differences Table Context Menu - TestStand File Diff and Merge Utility
Differences Table Context Menu
Click the Editing Options or Merging Options button or right-click a property in the Differences table to launch the Differences table context menu.
The Differences table context menu contains the following options when you are comparing two files:
- Accept Changes From Other File —Accepts all the changes from the corresponding property in the other file to the selected file.
- Accept Value From Other File —Accepts the value for the corresponding property in the other file to the selected file.
- Apply Changes To Other File —Applies all the changes within the selected property from the selected file to the other file.
- Clear Attributes —Deletes all the attributes from the selected property. This option is available when the TestStand File Diff and Merge utility marks an Attributes element as an insertion.
- Copy Attributes From Other File —Copies the attributes from the other file to the selected file. This option is available when you the selected property does not contain any attributes.
- Copy Item From Other File —Copies the array element from the other file to the selected file. This option is available when the selected array element does not existing in the selected file. The utility inserts the array element at the end of the array in the selected file.
- Copy Property From Other File —Copies the property from the other file to the selected file. This option is available when the selected property does not exist in the selected file.
- Copy Value To Other File —Copies the value of the selected property from the selected file to the other file. This option is available for properties with a value the utility marks as changed.
- Delete Item In This File —Deletes the selected array element from the selected file. This option is available only when the utility marks an array element as an insertion in the selected file.
- Delete Property In This File —Deletes the selected property from the selected file. This option is available when the utility marks the property as an insertion in the selected file.
- Edit Value —Launches a dialog box in which you can edit the value of the element. Depending on the element, this option launches the Array Bounds dialog box, Attributes dialog box, Edit Flags dialog box, Numeric Format dialog box, or View Change Details dialog box.
- Launch External Diff Tool or Launch External Merge Tool —Launches the external tool specified on the External Diff/Merge Tool tab of the File Differ Options dialog box for the selected string property or comment. The TestStand File Diff and Merge utility displays a cancelable waiting dialog box until you exit the external tool.
- Goto Location —Opens the file and locates the property in the file. If you select this option in the Merged column and complete any edits to the merged file, the utility does not reload the merged file.
The Differences table context menu contains the following options when you are comparing three files:
- Accept From < base filename > —Accepts all the changes within the selected property from the base file to the merged file.
- Accept Change From < filename > —Accepts all the changes within the selected property from the selected file to the merged file.
- Goto Location —Opens the file and locates the property in the file. If you select this option in the Merged column and complete any edits to the merged file, the utility does not reload the merged file.
- Use Custom Change —Launches a dialog box in which you can edit the value of the element. Depending on the element, this option launches the Edit Flags dialog box, Numeric Format dialog box, or View Change Details dialog box.
