Re-executing Completed Analysis Automation Tasks

Re-initiate a completed task in the Analysis Automation instance to implement updates or to troubleshoot failed analysis tasks.

Before you begin, ensure you have an Analysis Automation instance and scheduled or triggered tasks that reference an existing procedure.
Analysis Automation stores the following data with each task execution:
  • All references to the processed data – or, input data – including file paths, ASAM information, and custom strings.
  • Task parameters passed during execution.
  • The ID and name of the analysis procedure that the task references.
  • Comparative or parallel execution.
Any queries that a procedure might contain are not re-evaluated and all input data is pulled from stored task execution entries.
Note A task execution fails if an analysis procedure contains data links that have either been deleted or are unavailable.
  1. From the Dashboard, click Instance to access your Analysis Automation Instance.
Note The default name for the instance created upon installation is AnalysisService.
  2. Click History and select one or more of the analysis tasks.
Note Selecting multiple tasks disables the Show Details, Go to Task Definition, and Go to Analysis Automation Procedures Library options.
  3. Click the gear for one of the tasks you chose and select Re-execute Task.
Note If you update a procedure prior to re-execution, the task uses the updated procedure - including changed parameters. If you delete a task but re-execute an existing task execution entry, SystemLink uses the stored parameter values. If a procedure is deleted, the system returns an error.
  4. Confirm that the status of each task you re-executed is successful. If the task fails, check that the procedure has not been deleted and that the data links are current and available then execute the task again.
