Controlling Software Updates on a Client
Lock a client locally to ensure that software installations do not occur while you are working on the client.
- Log into the client system.
- Launch the NI SystemLink Client Tray.

On the Windows toolbar, right-click NI SystemLink
Notifications
in the system tray.
- Click Lock.

When you complete your work, right-click
and select
Unlock.
Note To programmatically change the lock
status of a client file, use a file API to create or delete a minion_blackout.lock
file in one of the following loctaions. The presence of the
.lock file locks the client and the absence of the file
unlocks it.
