The RTG installation includes a data clearing utility to clear any sensitive information from both volatile and non-volatile memory on the system. Run this utility either when the application is shut down or no RTG applications are running.

  1. Navigate to the <Program Files>\National Instruments\RTG\data-clearing-utility folder.
  2. Open a command line interface.
    • Press <Windows>+<S> and select Command Prompt.
    • Type cmd in the search field and select Command Prompt or right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  3. Drag RTG Data Clearing Utility.exe into the command line interface. 
    C:\Users\nitest>"C:Program Files\National Instruments\RTG\data-clearing-utility\RTG Data Clearing Utility.exe"
    Note Running the Data Clearing Utility clears all previously stored RTG calibration data for any device that has been calibrated with RTG's Calibration on that system.
  4. Press <Enter>.
    The utility runs and returns Sanitization Procedure Passed when it completes.
