The PXIe-4081 is a 7½-digit, 1,000 V digital multimeter and digitizer for engineers building PXI systems that require high-precision multi-function measurements. Use the PXIe-4081 to make AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, 2- or 4-wire resistance, and frequency/period measurements, as well as diode tests.

Device Capabilities

The PXIe-4081 has the following features and capabilities.

  • 7½ digits at 10 S/s, 5½ digits at 3 kS/s
  • 10 to 26-bit flexible resolution
  • Voltage measurements up to 1000 V DC (700 VRMS)
  • Current measurements up to 3 A
  • Resistance measurements up to 5 GΩ
  • Four high-voltage, safety-agency approved banana plug connectors
  • Waveform acquisitions at sample rates up to 1.8 MS/s.

The following table lists the functions and ranges supported by the PXIe-4081 while in DMM mode:

To measure DC or AC current outside of the normal range on the PXIe-4081, you must use a current shunt module (CSM). Refer to the Measuring Current section for more information.

Frequency/period voltage ranges are the same as AC voltage ranges.
