Use the S-Parameter Measurements Interactive Example Calibration Wizard to guide you through a system-level calibration.
Note Install the Pulsed RF
Measurement Library to access the Interactive Example.
Note Refer to S-Parameter Measurement
Calibration Requirements for more information about the system calibration
requirements, and to Converting Calibration Kit Characterizations to SNP Format
for more information about creating the calibration files used in this procedure.
-
Open the Calibration Wizard by clicking
Calibrate in the S-Parameter Measurements Interactive
Example, located in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\PRFM
Library directory.
Note If the Calibrate button is not enabled, ensure you have first committed the configuration settings to the hardware.
- Select the type of calibration to perform from the Calibration Method drop-down menu.
- Verify the calibration parameters, calibration files, and averaging settings in the Configuration Pane of the wizard. Click the Start/Next button to proceed to the first step of the calibration.
-
Perform the first measurement of the calibration.
- Make the hardware connections shown in the connection diagram that appears in the window.
-
Click Measure to perform the calibration measurement.
The display pane shows the results of the calibration measurement for debugging and monitoring purposes. Use the cursor to get scalar values for the desired frequency step.
- Click Start/Next to proceed to the next step in the calibration process.
- Repeat the substeps of Step 4 to perform the remaining calibration measurements.
- Click Next to calculate the error network and save it to the calibration file.
- Click Stop to exit the Calibration Wizard. If you modified any hardware parameters in the Calibration Wizard, you are prompted to commit those changes to the main panel. The new calibration file is generated and loaded into the interactive example.
