As the return message to a pending message that has been detected, the PAmodule returns flags.

If the condition for setting a flag is met, it is set to a logical value of 1 for one second. After this time has elapsed, the flag is automatically reset to 0. The flags are defined as *.ACT variables instead of *.STS variables because these flags are used in the application to trigger a response such as a Hard Stop. This response must be made in the application itself. Only the trigger is set by the flags.
