Adding a Controller Target for the cRIO-904x/cRIO-905x

Complete the following steps to add a controller target for the cRIO-904x or cRIO-905x to a project.

Create a new project in LabVIEW or open an existing project.
Right-click the project root in the Project Explorer window and select New»Targets and Devices from the shortcut menu.
The Add Targets and Devices dialog box opens.
Enable the applicable checkbox:
- Click the Existing target or device radio button if your hardware is connected.
- Click the New target or device radio button if your hardware is offline.
Select your cRIO-904x or cRIO-905x controller from the Real-Time CompactRIO folder.
Click the OK button.
LabVIEW adds the target item to the project.

Adding an FPGA Target
You do not need to add an FPGA target to your project when programming in Scan Interface Mode, Real-Time Mode, or Real-Time Scan Mode.
Adding I/O Items
An I/O item can be a RIO mezzanine card or a C Series module. RIO mezzanine cards have I/O or slots for C Series modules.
