Sharing the Chassis Reference Clock Signals
Cable the reference clock signals on the synchronization modules in each chassis. Skip this step for 1-VST and 2-VST configurations.
| Component | Recommended Part Number | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Synchronization Module: PXIe-6674T | 781037-01 | 2 |
| Clock Distribution Device: CDA-2990 | 784305-01 | 1 |
| SMA-to-SMA Cable | 137833-0150/0300/0600/1000 (0.150 m, 0.300 m, 0.600 m, and 1.000 m lengths) | 3 |
Note One PXIe-6674T is required for each PXIe chassis that
contains PXIe-5842 and PXIe-5655 modules, or requires a shared reference clock.
Note Use same length cables for connections between the splitter outputs
and CLK IN of the PXIe-6674T modules to ensure the phase is the same between chassis.
-
Connect CLK OUT on the PXIe-6674T module in Chassis 0 to the clock distribution device,
as shown in the following figure.
Figure 8. Connecting the Reference Clock Signals (2-PXIe Chassis System Shown)
- Connect CLK IN on both PXIe-6674T modules to the clock distribution device.
