Nigel is a design assistant powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI. Nigel brings a
wealth of knowledge about LabVIEW into your design process to help you create VIs and
projects.
Introduced in LabVIEW 2025 Q3
Nigel can help you while you are working in LabVIEW by performing tasks such as:
Finding VIs and objects in palettes using the search bar
Finding examples using the search bar to give you a solid starting point for a
project
Providing instructions for completing a specific task
Explaining key LabVIEW and VI design concepts
Describing the functionality of existing VIs
Assisting with finding specific settings or dialog boxes in the LabVIEW
environment
Summarizing documentation topics
Answering questions about hardware functionality and configuration
Note Nigel cannot find VIs and objects contained in
installed third-party palettes.
