This section discusses methods to trigger data logging that you can analyze with the LabVIEW Electrical Power Toolkit. You specify trigger threshold values to start non-continuous data recording that can capture voltage and current waveforms with a high sample rate. Data logging process also can capture power quality parameters or events data. Other data that data logging process records include the timestamps of power quality parameters and sequences of power quality events.
Triggers cause data logging to start when specified conditions occur. You specify trigger threshold values to determine when data logging starts and specify hysteresis threshold values to prevent false triggering. You can apply triggers to time-domain signals such as RMS values, waveforms, power values, spectra, complex spectra, and so on.
