Right-click the Scan From File function or the Scan From String function on the block diagram and select Edit Scan String from the shortcut menu to display the Edit Scan String dialog box.

Use this dialog box to specify how to convert the input string into the output arguments.

This dialog box includes the following components:

Option Description
Current scan sequence

Indicates the selected scan operation for converting the string.
Selected operation

Lists available conversion operations.
Add New Operation

Removes the selected operation from the Current scan sequence listbox.
Remove This Operation

Adds an operation from the Selected operation listbox to the Current scan sequence listbox.
Use fixed field width

Sets a fixed field width for the output arguments.
Corresponding scan string

Displays the format string of the selected scan sequence or operation. This is a read-only display.
