Mass Interconnect
The ECUTS uses the 9025 or 9025TR mass interconnect as the interface between the ECUTS and the DUT. Refer to the Virginia Panel Corporation 9025 User Manual for additional information about using the mass interconnect. Refer to the following figure for the arrangement of the mass interconnect receiver.

Mass Interconnect Pinouts
The following figures show generic pin definitions for each slot type on the mass interconnect. Contact your assigned NI Hardware Services Project Manager for the slot and module pinout references relevant to your specific ECUTS configuration.
Recommended ITA Components
NI recommends using COTS ITA enclosures from VPC. Contact your assigned NI Hardware Services Project Manager for other VPC components and tools recommended for ITA design for your specific ECUTS configuration.
Installing and Removing Components on the Mass Interconnect
Installing and removing ITA modules or receiver modules on the mass interconnect requires a 3/32 in. ball-end hex bit that is at least 75 mm (3.0 in.) long.
NI recommends a Bondhus 0105 or a McMaster-Carr 6972A16. Because 3/32 in. sockets or nut drivers are not widely available, adapting this tool to common hand or power tools may require a chuck adapter. NI recommends a Jacobs 30248 or McMaster-Carr 28055A71 chuck adapter. Refer to the Virginia Panel Corporation 9025 User Manual for torque values.
The 9025 has hooks that hold the mass interconnect receiver to the ITA; the receiver’s hooks suspend the ITA during engagement. The 9025TR does not have hooks because it uses a tray to support the ITA.
The 9025 is configured with the handle positioned against the receiver frame. In contrast, the 9025TR is configured with the space between the handle and frame. To lock the mass interconnect into place, you must ensure the ITA enclosure does not prevent the handle from moving into the engaged position.
