Maintenance

Refer to the topics in this section to complete maintenance tasks for the ECUTS-16001.

Cleaning the Test Rack Exterior

Clean system exterior surfaces with a dry lint-free cloth or a soft-bristle brush. If any dirt remains, wipe with a cloth moistened in a mild soap solution. Remove any soap residue by wiping with a cloth moistened with clear water. Do not use abrasive compounds on any part of the test rack.

Notice Use the following guidelines to avoid damaging the system when cleaning the test rack exterior:
  • Avoid getting moisture inside the system during exterior cleaning. Use only enough moisture to dampen the cloth.
  • Do not wash the front- or rear-panel connectors or switches. Cover these components when cleaning the test rack.
  • Do not use harsh chemical cleaning agents, as they may damage the system. Avoid chemicals that contain benzene, toluene, xylene, acetone, or similar solvents.

Cleaning the Air Intake Filter

NI recommends cleaning the air intake filter once per month or as needed. Use NI part number 785791-01 to order replacement air intake filters.

Complete the following steps to clean the air intake filter:

Visually inspect the main system exhaust fans to ensure that they are all running. Exhaust fan failure can lead to an over-temperature condition.
  1. Remove the four screws securing the 4U air inlet panel to the test rack.
  2. Remove the filter media from the inlet panel.
  3. Clean the air intake filter using warm water with a mild soap solution.
  4. Air dry the filter to remove moisture.
  5. After verifying that the filter is dry, replace the filter in the test rack with the white side facing outwards.
  6. Replace the 4U air inlet panel.
  7. Screw in the four screws to secure the inlet panel to the test rack.

Calibration

NI provides calibration services for instruments in the ECUTS that require calibration. NI recommends that you adhere to the calibration interval for all supported instruments in your system. For the latest information about available calibration service levels for your instrument, refer to Calibration Service Levels and Product Information on ni.com.
