You must activate the configuration to apply configuration changes to the PXI controller. Your changes are lost if you close PAtools PCU Configuration without transferring your configuration to the PXI controller or saving the configuration to a file.

After you make the required changes to your configuration, complete the following steps:

  1. Validate the configuration using one of the following options.
    • In the icon bar, click the check mark.
    • Click Tools » Validate.
    PAtools PCU Configuration checks the following conditions:
    • Are all mandatory parameters completed?
    • Are the values of the parameters within the specified value range?
    • Are the correct data types entered for the parameters?
    Note Validation does not guarantee that a configuration works as intended.
    Successful validation results in a message in the message window. If validation fails, all errors display in the message window. Use the message window to navigate to the incorrect entry. In addition, the tree nodes that contain incorrect entries are marked.
  2. Transfer the configuration to the PXI controller using one of the following options.
    • In the icon bar, click the transfer icon.
    • Click File » Transfer to PCU.
  3. Restart or shut down the PXI controller.
    • Tools » Reset PCU
    • Tools » Stop PCU
