PAexpress facilitates the PAtools-specific handling of the Microsoft SQL Server database and the SQL Server Express Edition database.

To open PAexpress, select PAexpress from the Windows Start menu.

Use PAexpress to perform the following tasks:

  • Create a database backup
  • Restore a database from a backup file
  • Upgrade the PAtools database version
  • Create maintenance plans
  • Create and manage SQL Server logins
  • Create and manage database users
  • Adjust the database configuration
  • Display the content of database tables and views
  • Execute certain stored procedures
  • Adjust the server configuration
  • Detach, attach, or delete databases
  • Execute SQL scripts
  • Terminate SQL Server processes
