This is where you enter symbol information during component creation. The symbol you assign to this component appears when it is placed on the schematic.

Refer to the table below as needed:

Symbol set Select ANSI Y32.2 Y32.2 or IEC 60617.
Edit Click to launch the Symbol Editor to modify the symbol. Optional.
Copy from DB Click to browse the component databases for an existing component symbol.
Copy to...

Click to use the same symbol for both the ANSI Y32.2 and IEC 60617 Symbol set.

You can also use this button to copy the symbol of a multi-section component to another section in the same component.

Hidden ground pins

Digital components in Multisim include hidden ground pins to avoid schematic clutter.

Appears when you select Simulation and layout or Simulation only digital components in the first step of the wizard.

Available selections depend on the Component technology selected in the first step of the wizard, for example, TIL.

Preview area

This shows the component symbol as it will appear on the schematic. For multi-section components, a tab appears for each Section below the preview.

Click on a tab to set up the symbol information for that section.
