The following are found in the Component Search dialog box.

Element Description
Group The database group to search from.
Family Tthe database family to search from.
Function Describes the component.
Component Name of the component.
Model ID The model's identification string.
Model manufacturer The name of the model's manufacturer.
Package type The second value that displays in the Package manufacturer/type field in the Select a Component dialog box.
User fields

Displays available user fields such as Vendor, Manufacturer Part No.

Enter a search string in the corresponding Value field.
Search Runs the search using the entered criteria.

  For a broader search, use the * wildcard to replace any number of characters and the ? wildcard to replace a single character in the text fields such as Component. Note that the quote character (“) is not a wildcard. Entering this will actually search for the specific (“) character.
