In schematic capture, a bus enables the collection of multiple wires and bus lines into a single conduit.

Use buses within a page, across multi-pages, and into nested circuits (subcircuits and hierarchical blocks). Using buses simplifies wiring and produces cleaner, more readable schematics.

You can pre-define the number and names of bus lines that are contained in a bus or enter a new bus line name upon connection. When connecting a wire to the bus, you are prompted to specify which of the existing bus lines the new wire should attach to.

You can use the Bus Vector Connect functionality to connect multiple pins from one component to a bus in one operation.

Buses with the same name are parts of the same bus. They need not be connected physically. To connect a bus to other pages of the same design, use Bus Off-Page Connectors, as in the examples shown in the figure below (1).

A nested circuit can use a Bus Hierarchical Connector to specify that one of the pins of the hierarchical block or subcircuit should be a bus pin, as shown in the figure below (1).
