The HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 helps you work with HDF5 files in the .h5, .hdf, and .he5 file extensions. Using this DataPlugin with the HDF5 Example DataPlugin helps you navigate through HDF5 hierarchy, inspect meta data, load data sets and values, and map the information from HDF5 to the technical data management (TDM) data model. You also can use the HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 with the HDF Group DataPlugin for HWS to work with NI-SCOPE Hierarchical Waveform Storage (HWS) format files.
To navigate through a HDF5 file, use the DIAdem NAVIGATOR, browse to the specific HDF5 file, and right-click to open it with "Open as Data Store". Drill down the HDF5 structure and select specific datasets and values for loading.
Use the HDF Group DataPlugin for HWS in combination with the HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 to load NI-SCOPE HWS files.

Note HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 no longer supports Windows Vista/XP/7/8.x, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, or any 32-bit Windows operating system. HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 2021 Q4 will not install or run on an unsupported OS. You cannot deploy or distribute applications that use HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 2021 Q4 to an unsupported OS. Additionally, after installing HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 2021 Q4, you cannot use any installers built on this computer with any version of LabVIEW, LabWindows™/CVI™, NI TestStand™, or Measurement Studio on an unsupported OS.

HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 2021 Q4 supports the application software that support DataPlugins, for example DIAdem, SystemLink and LabVIEW.
Download the HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 installer from ni.com/dataplugins. NI software includes NI Package Manager to handle the installation. Refer to the NI Package Manager Manual for more information about installing, removing, and upgrading NI software using Package Manager.

You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes.
If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.6.2, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.6.2 separately before you install NI software.

HDF Group DataPlugin for HDF5 no longer supports Windows Vista/XP/7/8.x, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, or any 32-bit Windows operating system. Versions of this product that ship after May 1, 2021, may not install or execute correctly on these operating systems.
