The HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE is a DataPlugin that helps you work with the SoMat SIE file format. This DataPlugin provides support for SoMat eDAQ FCS data records and other stored information.

This DataPlugin supports reading of data records and other information stored within the SoMat_SIE files generated by the SoMat eDAQ Field Computer Systems (FCS) from HBM. This data format is able to transport pictures and video information.

Supported Features (Reading)

  • Reading data records
  • Reading the channel ID as numeric reference.
  • Reading the channel property "v0" as scaled value.
  • Reading additional information

Supported Features (Writing)

  • Writing data records
  • Writing additional information

Unsupported Features

  • Reading "<xform>" info from the files. (no library function for this)
  • No support of "Group_SIE" and "Name_SIE" infos. (no library function for this)
  • Some properties are no longer available, e.g. base, dim_0_decoder, dim_0_offset, dim_0_scale, dim_0_v, dim_1_decoder, dim_1_offset, dim_1_scale, dim_1_v, private.
  • Reading images and video
  • Reading vehicle network data

In the software the DataPlugin name is SoMat_SIE.

Supported Operating Systems

HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE 2021 Q4 supports the following operating systems:

  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2016

Note  Refer to Unsupported Windows Operating Systems for more information about support for Microsoft Windows OSes.

Note  HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE no longer supports Windows Vista/XP/7/8.x, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, or any 32-bit Windows operating system. HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE 2021 Q4 will not install or run on an unsupported OS. You cannot deploy or distribute applications that use HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE 2021 Q4 to an unsupported OS. Additionally, after installing HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE 2021 Q4, you cannot use any installers built on this computer with any version of LabVIEW, LabWindows™/CVI™, NI TestStand™, or Measurement Studio on an unsupported OS.

Application Software Support

HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE 2021 Q4 supports the application software that support DataPlugins, for example DIAdem, SystemLink and LabVIEW.

Installation Instructions

Download the HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE installer from NI software includes NI Package Manager to handle the installation. Refer to the NI Package Manager Manual for more information about installing, removing, and upgrading NI software using Package Manager.

Automating the Installation of NI Products

You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes.

If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.6.2, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.6.2 separately before you install NI software.

Using NI Software with Microsoft Windows 10

Microsoft Windows 10 is the latest version of the Windows operating system and features significant changes compared to previous versions. Windows 10 introduces several new capabilities and also combines features from both Windows 7 and Windows 8. Unsupported Windows Operating Systems

HBM DataPlugin for SoMat-SIE no longer supports Windows Vista/XP/7/8.x, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, or any 32-bit Windows operating system.
