Post-Mortem Dump
A post-mortem dump is used to analyze switching-off processes.
The post-mortem dump is a ring memory with parameterizable feed and lag time (typically: tfeed= 10 s, tlag = 30 s).
The application triggers the post-mortem dump to save whenever an error occurs (e.g., switching off because of a limit value infringement). You can also manually trigger a post-mortem dump, for example in cases where suspicious behavior of some test parameters is observed.
Although you can parameterize various data formats, NI strongly recommends using a binary data format (e.g., MDF4) to ensure the best performance.
