The NI Data Link Test Framework and Data Link System Component (DLsc) API are compatible with VST streaming bitfiles.

  • VST MGT Streaming.lvbitx—This bitfile allows you to use the multi-gigabit transceiver (MGT) ports of the Vector Signal Transceiver (VST) to generate and acquire RF data in tandem with a compatible coprocessor.
    • Set the rate of the generation stream using the I/Q rate property with the NI-RFSG driver. The stream implements flow control.
    • Set the rate of the acquisition stream using the I/Q rate property with the NI-RFSA driver.
    • You must enable and initiate the stream link using the DLsc API before the NI-RFSA start trigger occurs. You must abort the stream link using the DLsc API before calling NI-RFSA Abort.
  • VST MGT Streaming - 4GHz.lvbitx—This bitfile allows you to use the multi-gigabit transceiver (MGT) ports of the PXIe-5842 VST (4 GHz Bandwidth) to generate and acquire RF data in tandem with a compatible coprocessor.
    • You must abort the stream link using the DLsc API before calling NI-RFSA abort.
  • Data Link VST MGT Streaming.lvbitx—This bitfile allows you to use the multi-gigabit transceiver (MGT) ports of the Vector Signal Transceiver (VST) to generate and acquire RF data in tandem with a compatible coprocessor using the RFmx driver.
    • Set the rate of the generation stream using the I/Q rate property with the NI-RFSG driver. The stream implements flow control.
    • The rate of the acquisition stream is the maximum I/Q rate of the VST.
      • This design enables the stream to remain active while using the RFmx driver. Every time a measurement initiates, the data in the link is temporarily interrupted.
      • You must enable and initiate the stream link using the DLsc API before the RFmx start trigger occurs.
      • The coprocessor must be capable of accepting data at the rates listed in the following table.
