You can use the battery model powertrain (BMPT) module with a battery simulator (BTS). The BTS can operate either as a battery tester or as a battery simulator.
BTS Control
The BMPT can turn BTS remote control on and off and adjust the most important BTS settings.
The module sets the BTS mode to 10 and monitors it to make sure it stays at 10. The module also loads the standard parameter set for operation mode 10. (The module doesn’t monitor the parameter set, because it doesn’t have to be 2.) In mode 10, you can define the current limit and the voltage in this module.
You can couple the pulse block to terminal 15, couple it to terminal 30, or decouple it. If SOC and pulse block are activated at the same time, the message system reports an error or warning.
Battery Simulation
You can set the output voltage per cell manually. You can also can have it calculated from the state of charge (SOC) using a fourth-degree polynomial.
You can either set the SOC directly or calculate it by using the nominal capacity, state of health (SOH), and input current at each time step.
The simulation uses a simplified network (2xR, 1xC).
You can parameterize the capacity C1 and resistance R2 for relaxation modeling, as well as the inner resistance R1 and the input current. You can also set the resistance R1.
Using the amount of serial connected cells, the cell voltage is scaled to the BTS voltage. The cell current is divided by the amount of parallel connected cells.
Shutdown Behavior
For each stop type (soft stop, hard stop, emergency stop), the shutdowns inform the BMPT module that the BTS must be switched off. The module determines whether the stop is a normal stop (soft stop) or a hard stop (hard stop, emergency stop).
If the BMPT module detects a normal shutdown (soft stop, BTS off), it ramps the voltage down to 0 and activates the pulse block.
If the BMPT module detects a hard stop or an emergency stop, it activates the pulse block immediately and sets the target voltage to 0.
Features

The BMPT module registers automatically with the STMC module. You can also integrate the add-on user box into the main GUI of the test case.
