Setting Overdraft Policies
Select whether you want to enable overdraft in order to add new seats to your volume license agreement automatically and pay for them later. You can also specify the amount of overdraft and set pay-as-you-go.
Allow an overdraft policy to use more licenses than the agreement specifies and pay for them later.
Note If
you use more licenses than your agreement allows,
NI charges you for the number of licenses
exceeded. For more information, refer to the
General Purpose Software License Agreement.
Note Refer to your volume license agreement for
specific purchasing requirements and overdraft
licensing options.
- Select the menu item.
- Select Overdraft in the navigation tree.
-
Check Allow overdraft
if you want to allow overdraft.
Note This setting applies to all products in your agreement license file, except those products that use concurrent licenses. You must accept the terms and conditions notification before overdraft can be enabled in NI VLM.
- Use the slider to set the overdraft percentage. This percentage is the amount of licenses that you can use in addition to your purchased agreement licenses.
-
Check Enable
pay-as-you-go if you want to enable
pay-as-you-go. This setting reminds you when you
overdraft licenses to send your VLA Log to NI in
order to cover the overdraft by purchasing the
corresponding licenses.
Note
- You do not need to select pay-as-you-go in order to enable overdrafts. If you do not check pay-as-you-go, you will pay for the overdrafted licenses at your volume license agreement renewal.
- If you enable pay-as-you-go, the license maintenance will be prorated when you pay for the license. If you do not enable pay-as-you-go, the license maintenance will not be prorated. For more information on renewing agreements, refer to Renewing Expired Agreements.
