Complete the following steps to restore NI VLM data:

  1. In NI VLM, select the File » Backup/Restore NI VLM menu item to launch the Backup and Restore Wizard.
  2. Select Restore NI VLM.
  3. In the Restore from section, click the ellipsis () to launch a file browser and navigate to the backup file you want to use. You can find your backup files in the backup directory you set in NI VLM preferences General settings. The backup file name has the following format: [default backup location]\yyyymmdd-hhmm.vlmbak.
  4. Click Restore.
    Note NI VLM automatically backs up NI VLM's current configuration before restoring from the selected backup file. The automatic backup file name has the following format: [default backup location]\autobackup-yyyymmdd-hhmm.vlmbak.
  5. Click Finish to exit the Backup and Restore Wizard.
