At the end of the test sequence execution, some systems require moving a printout of a report associated with the unit under test (UUT) to the next stage of the manufacturing process along with the UUT. For such reports, raw results generators and asynchronous report generation are not appropriate. This requirement does not impact other report formats.

You can generate on-the-fly reports to satisfy this requirement because TestStand generates on-the-fly reports synchronously.

Recommended Report Options

The following table summarizes the recommended options you configure in the Report Options dialog box when you optimize for ensuring the report for a UUT is generated before the next UUT is tested:

Report Option Value
Format ASCII, ATML, XML, HTML (best to worst)
Asynchronous False
On-the-Fly Report True
Only Display Latest Results N/A

Tradeoffs

Consider the impact to the following requirements when you optimize for ensuring the report for a UUT is generated before the next UUT is tested:

  • Maximize test system throughput
  • Generate multiple reports for each UUT
  • Generate and view the report during test sequence execution
