Graph Properties: Polar Plot Dialog Box

Right-click the Polar Plot on the front panel and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display this dialog box.

Use this dialog box to customize the Polar Plot. As you select options in this dialog box, the front panel object updates accordingly.

This dialog box contains the following components:

  • Appearance—Use this page to specify appearance properties of the plot.
    • Label—Specifies label properties.
      • Visible—Specifies whether to display the label of the plot.
      • Text—Determines the text to use for the label.
    • Caption—Specifies caption properties.
      • Visible—Specifies whether to display the caption of the plot.
      • Text—Determines the text to use for the caption.
    • Enabled State—Specifies whether the user can operate the plot.
      • Enabled—Enables the user to operate the plot.
      • Disabled—Displays the plot in the front panel window, but the user cannot operate the plot.
      • Disabled & grayed—Displays and dims the plot in the front panel window, and the user cannot operate the plot.
    • Color Scheme—Specifies the color scheme of the plot.
      • Background—Determines the background color of the plot.
      • Arrow color—Determines the color of the arrow.
      • Legend background—Determines the color of the legend background.
      • Legend font—Determines the color of the legend font.
  • Format and Precision—Use this page to specify format and precision properties.
    • Magnitude—Specifies the format and precision of the magnitude scale.
      • Type—Specifies the format of the magnitude scale. You can select one of the following formats:

        • Floating point
        • Scientific
        • Automatic formatting
        • SI notation
      • Digits—If Precision Type is Digits of precision, this field contains the number of digits to display after the decimal point. If Precision Type is Significant digits, this field contains the number of significant digits to display.
      • Precision Type—Sets whether to display digits of precision or significant digits. Select Digits of precision if you want the Digits field to indicate the number of digits to display after the decimal point. Select Significant digits if you want the Digits field to indicate the number of significant digits to display.
      • Hide trailing zeros—Hides trailing zeros on the magnitude scale.
  • Plot—Use this page to specify plot properties.
    • Plot—Specifies the appearance of the plot.
      • Line style—Specifies the line style of the plot.
      • Line width—Specifies the line width of the plot.
      • Point style—Specifies the point style of the plot.
      • Color—Specifies the color properties of the plot.
        • Line color—Specifies the color of the plot line.
        • Point/Fill—Specifies the color of the point and fills.
    • Marker—Specifies the appearance of the marker.
      • Point style—Specifies the point style of the marker.
      • Show marker—Displays the marker on the plot.
      • Marker color—Specifies the color of the marker.
  • Scales—Use this page to specify appearance properties of the scales.
    • Magnitude—Specifies properties of the magnitude scale.
      • Name—Specifies the name of the scale.
      • Show magnitude scale—Displays the magnitude scale on the plot.
      • Show magnitude scale label—Displays the label of the magnitude scale.
      • Magnitude major grid—Specifies the color of the major grid on the scale.
      • Magnitude minor grid—Specifies the color of the minor grid on the scale.
      • Magnitude scale marker text—Specifies the color of the scale marker text.
      • Autoscale—Automatically adjusts the scale to reflect the data you wire to the plot.
        • Maximum—Specifies the maximum value of the scale range. This option appears dimmed if you place a checkmark in the Autoscale checkbox.
    • Phase—Specifies properties of the phase scale.
      • Show phase scale—Displays the phase scale.
      • Phase grid—Specifies the color of the phase grid.
      • Phase scale marker text—Specifies the color of the marker text.
  • Cursor—Use this page to specify cursor properties.
    • Cursor—Specifies cursor properties.
      • Line style—Specifies the line style of the cursor.
      • Line width—Specifies the line width of the cursor.
      • Point style—Specifies the point style of the cursor.
      • Cursor style—Specifies the style of the cursor.
      • Cursor color—Specifies the color of the cursor.
      • Show cursor—Displays the cursor on the plot.
      • Show cursor info—Displays the cursor name. This option is available only when you set Show cursor to TRUE.
      • Lock cursor info position—Specifies whether to lock the position of the cursor name. This option is available only when you set Show cursor to TRUE.
  • Acceptance Region—Use this page to specify properties of Acceptance Regions. You define Acceptance Regions for acceptance tests.
    • Acceptance Region selector—Specifies the Acceptance Region you want to configure.
      • Name—Specifies the name of the Acceptance Region.
      • Start radius—Sets the start radius of the Acceptance Region.
      • End radius—Sets the end radius of the Acceptance Region.
      • Start angle—Sets the start angle of the Acceptance Region.
      • End angle—Sets the end angle of the Acceptance Region.
      • Border color—Specifies the border color of the Acceptance Region.
      • Fill color—Specifies the fill color of the Acceptance Region.
      • Show Acceptance Region—Specifies whether to display the Acceptance Region on the plot.
      • Line style—Specifies the line style of the Acceptance Region.
      • Line width—Specifies the line width of the Acceptance Region.
    • Add—Adds an Acceptance Region.
    • Remove—Removes an Acceptance Region.
  • Documentation—Creates descriptions and tip strips for the plot.
    • Description—Contains a description of the object to display in the Context Help window when you move the cursor over the object. You can format the text in the description to appear bold in the Context Help window. If you want to display a carriage return in the Context Help window, you must separate paragraphs with two carriage returns.
    • Tip strip—Contains a brief description of the object to display when you move the cursor over an object while a VI runs. The Tip text box is available only for controls, indicators, and constants.
