The linear gauge displays the value of a variable in a vertical thermometer.
Introduced in PAtools 7.0
The value of the linear gauge also displays digitally under the instrument. Configure the following elements for the linear gauge:
- Scale limits
- Step width
- Warning and shut-off limits
- Pointer and trailing pointer
The range between zero and the current value displays in a gray bar. If the warning limits are exceeded, the color of the bar changes to the warning color. A bar in at the top of the linear gauge also displays the warning status.
If shut-off limits are exceeded, the color of the bar changes to the error color.
Defining a Variable
Use one of the following options to define the display variable:
- Type the name of the variable directly into the input box for the title. A name selection list opens below the title. Then, you can select the desired variable.
- In the Properties dialog, define the name of the variable whose value displays in the Variable field. The selected variable is automatically applied as the title for the instrument.
Customizing the Display
Customize the display of the instrument in the Properties dialog.
