Configuring Test Stations for Battery Packs and Battery Modules

To configure a new test station for battery packs and battery modules, you can start with a template test station. You can also configure a new test station in PAconfigurator.

To start with a template test station, create a duplicate of the template. Then, adjust the number of slots and their application types. The slots and application types must match the cycler channel configuration of your physical system. Refer to Battery Pack and Module Applications for more information about cycler channel configurations.

To configure a new test station, refer to Creating a New Test Station in the PAtools User Manual. The following additional considerations apply to configuring test stations for battery applications.

  1. Add a Runtime System Slot entry for the control test.
    1. For RTS number, enter 0 or 5 for the control test depending on which runtime system number is available.
The runtime systems you choose must be ones that you configured on the PXI controller for this test station. Refer to Configuring a PXI Controller for more information about assigning runtime systems to a PXI controller.
    2. For Application Type, enter Control_Test_Application_Type.
  2. Add the required number of slots for the battery packs or the battery modules.
    1. For each slot, set RTS number to a unique number between 1 and 9.
Control test on runtime system 0 Enter 1–4
Control test on runtime system 5 Enter 6–9
If you upload test stations to SystemLink, you can associate test stations with physical or virtual systems in SystemLink. If your lab uses one PXI to control one test station, associate the test station with a physical SystemLink system. If one PXI controls multiple test stations, associate each test station with a virtual system in SystemLink. Refer to Uploading Test Stations to SystemLink to learn how to upload PAtools test stations to SystemLink.
