PropertyDescription
Is DeviceSpecifies whether the resource is a device. NI defines a device as 'a singular hardware product that monitors, measures, outputs, interprets or processes signals.' A resource can be both a device and chassis.

In general, if the Serial Number property is not an empty string and a resource supports diagnostic functionality, this property is TRUE. Note that those features can exist without requiring this property to be TRUE.
Note Note  Each device is not necessarily a separate field-replaceable unit. One controller or chassis may report multiple embedded devices if each resource has distinct configuration properties and information about how other devices connect to it. For example, an embedded PXI controller would return one resource for the controller itself, another for its GPIB controller (if present), and another for its Serial port (if present).

See the table below for a detailed example.
Is ChassisSpecifies whether the resource is a chassis. A chassis has numbered slots and an enclosure that modules or devices plug into. A resource can be both a device and chassis.

If this resource has only an external connector for a cable or accessory, this property will be FALSE. For example, for the resource corresponding to a GPIB controller or Serial port, this property will be FALSE because those devices are connected via an external cable.

See the table below for a detailed example.
Service TypeSpecifies the resource's type. Not all resources have a service.

Valid values include: (0) NI Network Resource, (1) NI Real-Time, (2) NI System Configuration, (3) NI Web Interface, (4) Local System, (5) Local Net Interface, (6) Local Time Keeper, (7) Local Time Reference and (8) LXI Instrument.
Startup Settings:Disable FPGA Startup AppSpecifies to disable any FPGA application the next time the target is restarted.

Startup Settings:Enable Console OutSpecifies to enable the console output the next time the target is restarted.
Startup Settings:IP ResetSpecifies to reset the network configuration to the factory default the next time the target is restarted.
Startup Settings:Enable Secure Shell Server (sshd)Specifies to enable sshd on the target. Starting sshd enables logins over SSH, an encrypted communication protocol. NI recommends setting a password for the controller before logging in over SSH or serial connection.
Startup Settings:Disable RT Startup AppSpecifies to disable any LabVIEW startup application the next time the target is restarted.
Startup Settings:Enable UI Desktop EnvironmentSpecifies to enable the desktop environment the next time the target is restarted. When you enable the desktop environment, you can connect a display device to the target and view a graphical working environment, including the front panel of a VI running on the target.
