Simulate an NI-RFSG device using MAX to develop, modify, and/or test an application without hardware.

Using a simulated device to test an application eliminates the risk of hardware damage. Additionally, you can use a simulated device to evaluate an NI product for which you do not have hardware.
Note Simulation using MAX is available only on PXIe-5611, PXI/PXIe-5650/5651/5652, and PXIe-5653.

To create and configure a simulated NI-RFSG device in MAX, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Devices and Interfaces in the configuration tree, and click Create New in the MAX toolbar.
The Create New dialog box opens.
  2. Select Simulated NI-DAQmx Device or Modular Instrument, and click Finish.
The Create Simulated NI-DAQmx Device dialog box opens.
  3. Expand RF Devices, and select the NI-RFSG device to simulate.
  4. Click OK.
The NI-RFSG device appears in the MAX configuration tree with a yellow icon to indicate it is a simulated device.
