NI-RFSG Named Trigger Types

Named trigger types in NI-RFSG define the action you want an instrument or instrument channel to take upon detecting a specific signal condition.

Trigger stimuli include digital edges, software functions, and analog levels. The trigger can be derived from attributes of the signal to be acquired, such as the level and slope of the signal.

The following named trigger types are available in NI-RFSG:

  • Start—Initiates signal generation.

Supported signal conditions: None, Digital Edge, Software

  • Script—General-purpose trigger with a role that is determined entirely by the context of the generation script. A script allows you to create sophisticated generation operations. For example, the script could configure the device to generate waveform A, then wait for the Script Trigger, then generate waveform B. You can configure up to four Script Triggers for use in your application. Once a digital edge Script Trigger has been received, that trigger remains true for all subsequent instructions until the clear instruction is called or the trigger is reset after being used in the wait, repeat/end repeat, or if instructions.

Supported signal conditions: None, Digital Edge, Digital Level, Software

  • Configuration List Step—Transitions an instrument to the next step in the list.

Supported signal conditions: None, Digital Edge
