Detecting and Identifying NI-RFSG Devices

To share triggers or clocks to synchronize devices, you must properly detect and identify your chassis and controller in MAX.
MAX automatically detects and identifies all PXI Express chassis and controllers, including devices controlled using MXI-Express.
MAX does not automatically detects and identifies all PXI chassis and controllers. Complete the following steps to manually detect and identify your PXI chassis.
- In the configuration tree, double-click Devices and Interfaces to see a list of detected chassis.

Detect or identify your chassis in the list.
Option Description Chassis Detection If your chassis does not appear under Devices and Interfaces, complete the following procedure. - Select Devices and Interfaces and click Create New in the MAX toolbar.
- Select the PXI Chassis option under Devices and Interfaces and enter the requested information regarding your PXI equipment.
Chassis Identification If your chassis appears as Chassis (Unidentified) in the list, complete the following procedure: - Select your chassis tree item and click Identify from the MAX toolbar.
- Select the appropriate model name of your chassis.
