Your digital waveform generator and analyzer allows you to configure the subperiod time at which each waveform sample is generated or acquired. This subperiod time selection is referred to as the data position. You can also configure the position of the exported Sample clock (clock position).
Configuring data and clock positions enables the use of your digital waveform generator and analyzer in various applications:
- Measuring setup and hold times
- Measuring propagation delays
- Maximizing timing margins in high-speed data transfers
Data deskew allows you to specify the timing delay after the Sample clock rising edge when the device generates or acquires a new data sample. Data deskew is applied at all times, regardless of the value of the data or clock position. It is expressed as an absolute time (in seconds). Refer to the data deskew topic for your device for information about valid values.
