Redirects to the LabVIEW Tools Network on ni.com where you can download a library of floating-point math operation functions. You can use these functions in your FPGA application to minimize resource usage outside single-cycle Timed Loops or to optimize timing performance inside 40 MHz single-cycle Timed Loops.
Accessing the NI Floating-Point Library
To access the NI Floating-Point library, you must have the JKI VI Package Manager (VIPM) software installed. When you click NI Floating-Point Library on the palette, LabVIEW automatically detects whether the VIPM software is installed and proceeds with the following operations:
- If the VIPM software is installed, LabVIEW launches a VIPM software dialog box that displays detailed information about this library. Click Install or Uninstall to install or uninstall the library.
- If the VIPM software is not installed, LabVIEW launches the NI LabVIEW VIPM Helper dialog box that prompts you to install the VIPM software. After the installation is complete, LabVIEW launches the VIPM software dialog box that displays detailed information about this library. Click Install or Uninstall to install or uninstall the library.
After you install the NI Floating-Point library in the VIPM software, you can access the functions on the User Libraries palette. Refer to the Getting Started with the NI LabVIEW FPGA Floating-Point Library document (Getting_Started_with_the_NI_LabVIEW_FPGA_Floating_Point_Library.pdf), located in the labview\user.lib\_NI FLP Library\documentation folder, for more information about using the functions in this library.
