Installing the LabVIEW Real-Time Module

You can install the LabVIEW Real-Time Module with either NI Package Manager or with the LabVIEW Platform media.

Application Software Support

The LabVIEW 2024 Q1 Real-Time Module supports LabVIEW 2024 Q1. For information about the Application Software Support in earlier versions of the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, refer to the Readmes for those versions.

Installing the LabVIEW Real-Time Module using Package Manager

Refer to Package Manager for information about installing, removing, and upgrading NI software using Package Manager.

Installing the LabVIEW Real-Time Module using LabVIEW Platform Media

To install software using the LabVIEW Platform media, insert the media and follow the on-screen instructions. You can install the following:
  • LabVIEW
  • Modules
  • Toolkits
  • Drivers
When prompted, log in to your NI User Account to activate your NI products. If you are managing your license with a volume license server, you should receive your volume license file by email.
Note If Windows Update is enabled, it might interfere with the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Run-Time. This interference can cause the installation to hang. Note If you purchased this product as part of an NI Software Suite or NI Product Bundle, use the installation media provided. This media enables you to install the product.
Note Use the serial number provided with your software to activate the Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit. For more details on activating the Real-Time Module, see License Manager.

Installing and Using Japanese and Simplified Chinese Languages on an RT Target

After installing the Real-Time Module on your development computer, follow these steps to install Japanese and Simplified Chinese languages on an RT target:
  1. Use the LabVIEW Real-Time Software Wizard in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (NI MAX) to install language support. Choose either Japanese or Simplified Chinese for the RT target. Refer to the Measurement & Automation Explorer Help for information about the LabVIEW Real-Time Software Wizard.
  2. Open the System Settings tab and select Japanese or Simplified Chinese as the Locale.
    Note You cannot use Japanese or Simplified Chinese characters in directory names or file names on the RT target.
    Note The Real-Time Module (64-bit) supports English only.

Configuring RT Targets

Use NI MAX to configure RT targets and to install software and drivers on targets. You can install NI MAX from the NI Package Manager or the LabVIEW Platform media.
