Owning Palette: FPGA VIs

Requires: Electrical Power Toolkit. This topic might not match its corresponding palette in LabVIEW depending on your operating system, licensed product(s), and target.

Use the Protection VIs to implement protection devices on FPGA targets. Protection devices measure input energizing quantities, set thresholds of pick-up signals, and delay for certain time intervals before trip signals assert. Protection devices also control the automatic reclosing and lockout of circuit breakers.

Palette ObjectDescription
FPGA Definite Time DelayDelays for the time interval that you specify in time delay settings, which includes the operate time and the reset time. Use this VI to build a protection relay with definite time delay characteristics, such as a 27 undervoltage relay, 50 instantaneous overcurrent relay, 59 overvoltage relay, and 81 frequency relay. You can compensate for the processing delay of the input energizing quantity to achieve higher operate time accuracy.
FPGA Inverse Time DelayDelays for the time interval that you specify in the Inverse Time Curves VI before the trip signal asserts. The Inverse Time Curves VI generates inverse time curves for this VI to use. You can compensate for the processing delay of the input energizing quantity under a specific G/Gs in the Inverse Time Curves VI to achieve higher operate time accuracy.
FPGA Measurement for ProtectionComputes the instantaneous magnitude, phase, and frequency values of the fundamental frequency component for protection applications. The output rate is 24 samples per cycle. You must use the FPGA Resampling VI to resample even-time-spaced voltage and current signals into even-angle-spaced signals before running this VI.
FPGA Reclosing LogicControls the automatic reclosing and lockout of a circuit breaker based on the reclosing settings that you specify. This VI also displays the reclosing status.
FPGA ThresholdDetects the input energizing quantity G for deciding whether G turns to a pick-up signal according to pick-up settings.
