Shared variable properties determine how the Shared Variable Engine (SVE) handles a shared variable.

You can use the shared variable properties to edit the following shared variable configurations:

  • Initialize shared variable values
  • Set alarm levels and priorities for the shared variable data
  • Log the shared variable to a historical database
  • Scale data
  • Set deadbands to filter the shared variable data
  • Update security settings for the shared variable
Note You can edit the properties that the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module supports only for network-published shared variables.

The shared variable properties that you can edit depends on the data type of the shared variable and on your target and licensed product(s).
