Click the Search button on the toolbar of the Controls or Functions palette to display the Search Palettes dialog box.

Use this dialog box to perform text-based searches for any control, VI, or function on the Controls and Functions palettes.

Note You also can use the Quick Drop dialog box to specify an object by name and add the object to the block diagram or front panel.

This dialog box includes the following components:

Option Description
Search

Contains the text LabVIEW uses to search for controls, VIs, and functions.

Click the button again to hide the section of the dialog box where you can narrow or expand the search.
Functions

Searches only the objects on the Functions palette.

When you click the Search button, LabVIEW searches all controls, VIs, and Functions.
Controls

Searches only the objects on the Controls palette.
