Using PXI Express Synchronization in Your FlexLogger Project

Automatically synchronize devices between PXI Express chassis.

This feature is available only as part of a complete FlexLogger license. Refer to FlexLogger Editions for more information.

Supported PXI Express chassis with the optional timing and synchronization upgrade share trigger and clock signals through HDMI cables.

  1. Ensure that your system includes at least two chassis that support PXI synchronization. Refer to the supported hardware topic for more information.
  2. Ensure that the synchronization-enabled devices in your system are using the line topology configuration. This configuration supports synchronization.

    Line topology is also known as daisy-chaining or bus topology. The host communicates directly with all chassis. The chassis share trigger and clock signals through one bus line.

    You must connect to the In and Out ports on the chassis to enable synchronization. Refer to your chassis documentation at https://ni.com/docs for more information on synchronization and networking.

  3. Verify that synchronization is enabled. Go to File » Preferences, select the General tab, and then select Enable multi-chassis and network synchronization.
The SYNC indicator in the FlexLogger toolbar turns green to show that synchronization is working. If the SYNC indicator doesn’t appear or isn’t green, refer to Synchronization Status for troubleshooting information.
