Taking a Measurement
Before you begin this procedure, launch the Power Validation Add-On for InstrumentStudio and open your project.
-
Click the device tab for any connected DAQ or SMU devices.
Note For DAQ devices, click Add Channel to configure and include additional channels in your measurement.
-
Configure each channel by doing one of the following:
- From the instrument view, double-click a channel row or click the gear icon (
). In the pop-up window,
select if the channel will measure voltage or current, specify the range, and for
current measurements, specify a shunt resistor value. - From the list view, click the channel to be configured (for instance, AI0+). In the pop-up window, select if the channel will measure voltage or current, specify the range, and for current measurements, specify a shunt resistor value.
- From the instrument view, double-click a channel row or click the gear icon (
- Use Mode to specify whether the measurement will be continuous or finite. If it is finite, specify the Test Time in seconds.
- For DAQ devices, select the Trigger to use and the Sampling rate.
- For devices that support offset adjustments, specify either Auto Zero or Chopping values. Auto Zero uses sampling to adjust the offset whereas Chopping uses modulation and demodulation. Chopping and Auto Zero cannot be used together.
- Click Run/Stop to start the acquisition.
