| Question | What information do I need to have handy before requesting support for troubleshooting build errors? | ||||||||||
| Answer | When you contact National Instruments at ni.com/support, include the name of the batch installer you are building and attach the build log and the three configuration files (Preferences.xml, BatchInstallerSpecifications.xml, and SourceInstallerLibrary.xml). You can find the build log in the build output directory specified in preferences. You can find the configuration files in C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\BIB. | ||||||||||
| Question | Why can't NI Batch Installer Builder access the installers I added to the library using shortcuts? | ||||||||||
| Answer | If you use shortcuts to NI product installers, ensure installers are accessible at build time. Log in to all necessary network paths, and attach any necessary removable devices before building the batch installer. | ||||||||||
| Question | Why are some products grayed out when I try to add them to the library? | ||||||||||
| Answer | You cannot select items in gray text, as noted in the following table. NI Batch Installer Builder tells you what action you may need to perform to use those installers.

| Question | My builds fail when using shortcuts to product installers. How can I fix this issue? | ||||||||||
| Answer | If the installer builds keep failing and you have added the installers by shortcut to a network location, first remove the installer shortcuts from the library, add the installers by copying them to a local disk, and then retry building the batch installer. If your builds continue to fail, contact National Instruments at ni.com/support. | ||||||||||
