Battery Test Packages and Configuration Files

Battery Test System test characteristics and relationships between hardware and software assets are defined by battery test packages. Battery test packages are used by the BTS Web UI and BTS Software to configure and execute tests. Use the Battery Test Package Loader to load, validate, and store battery test packages for use in the environment. There are four types of battery test packages, which include a collection of files needed to describe a test, DUT, test station, or connector:

  • Test packages define the test parameters and endpoints being monitored during the test in TestStand and VeriStand, and include a file which describes the test. They also include the set of executable test sequence files and profiles.
  • DUT packages define the characteristics and signals associated with a DUT, and include files that describe a DUT's I/O measurement sensors, BMS database, and start-up sequence.
  • Test station packages define the instrument channel mappings for a test station, and include files that describes the test station as well as a VeriStand base system definition file configured for that test station.
  • Connector packages define the input and output signals used for a test, and map defined DUT signals to defined instrument channels on BTS hardware.

Every package includes an XML configuration file that describes the package and its characteristics. An XML element reference for the XML files which compose these packages is listed in Battery Test Package XML Conventions.
