Group Types

Each group is uniquely designated by the group name, any string with a maximum of 255 characters (no blanks or special characters except underscores) and the group type according to the structure of the database. A group folder can never contain two groups of the same name and type. However, different group types with the same name are allowed.
Programming Group Types
Computations—Calculation of any variables with the help of formulas.
Computed variables—Definition of variables that are calculated from other variables with formulas.
Pointer —Definition of pointers to PAtools elements (such as variables, operation tables, value
tables, step tables).
Operation tables—Definition of operation tables.
PAbasic—Reference to PAbasic programs.
PAscript—Reference to a PAscript program.
Tables—Definition of value tables.

Initialization of variables—Assignment of initialization values for variables.
Measurement channels—Definition of the channels of those variables that are used in a group of the type
