Locking Dialog Windows

The LockAny module allows you to protect dialog windows against unauthorized operation by setting a password request. Which dialog windows are affected depends on the type of application you use.

There are two options for managing the passwords:

  • Using a testXplorer—With the central password management of testXplorer the same password is valid on all test benches in the test field and changing the password immediately effects all test benches. Test benches can also be grouped, so that one password applies only for group A and another one only for group B.
  • On the test bench where the test is running—The password is only valid on this test bench. No groups are possible.

Accessing the LockAny Module

The password protection is managed on one side on the tab LockAny in the top right area of the main window.

When you open the application for the first time, the tab contains two input fields:

To open the password protection the second way, click Software tab on the bottom left, then click LockAny.

The interfaces of the tab and the dialog are the same. If you operate one of them, the interfaces change in parallel.

Locking and Unlocking the Dialog Window

When locking for the first time, enter a password in the New password field. The password must consist of at least 6 characters.

Now free access to dialog window is locked and only possible with the password. Click the lock button to lock the dialog window again.

The lock icon is now gray and the input field for the password becomes active. That indicates that locking was successful.

To unlock the dialog window enter the password in the corresponding, active field.

Changing the Password

When you have to change the password, click the button bottom right.
