Complete the following steps to change any of the settings in the Pins tab:
- Select the desired cell in the spreadsheet.
- Click again to display a drop-down list.
- Click the down-arrow that appears and make the desired selection.
Refer to the table below for details.
Column Description Name The pin's name. You can perform full or partial negation (an overline) on pin names by using the ^ symbol, as shown in the examples below: - ^MyPin negates all of the text. In this example, the pin name displays with a negation bar above all of MyPin.
- ^MyPin^ also negates all of the text.
- My^Pin^ negates Pin only—a negation bar appears above Pin.
Shape The pin type. Choices are Line pin, Dot pin, Clock pin, Dot-clock pin, Input wedge pin, Output wedge pin, Zero-length pin. Length The pin length. Choices are Short (1 grid), Regular (2 grids), Long (3 grids), Extra long (4 grids). If Zero-length pin is selected in the Shape field, the list of pin lengths is not available in the Length field. Symbol pins Select either Hidden or Visible to hide or show the pin name on the symbol by default. This can be changed in the Sheet Properties or Component Properties in Multisim. Name orientation The orientation of the pin's name on the symbol. Choices are Auto, Vertical, Horizontal. Name font The font used for the symbol pin's name. Name font style The style of font used for the symbol pin's name (for example, Bold). Name font size The size of the font used for the symbol pin's name. Package pin numbers Select either Hidden or Visible to hide or show the package pin on the symbol by default. Can be changed from the schematic in Multisim. Number orientation Sets the orientation of the package pin number on the symbol. Choices are Auto, Vertical, Horizontal. Number font The font used for the package pin's number. Number font style The style of font used for the foorprint pin's number. Number font size The size of the font used for the package pin's number. Internal pin Indicates whether or not the pin is internal. Internal pins do not show on the component symbol and cannot be wired to.
