Use this tab to determine the component placement mode and the symbol standard (ANSI Y32.2 or IEC 60617).
Complete the following steps to set up component preferences:
- Choose Options»Global options»Components tab.
- Set the following as desired, in the Place component mode box:
- Return to Component Browser after placement checkbox—Enable to return to the Select a Component dialog box after you place a component on the workspace. This is useful when you have many components to place. Press <Esc> when finished component placement.
- Place single component radio button—Select to place one selected component at a time.
- Continuous placement for multi-section component only radio button—Select to place multiple sections of a multi-section component. For example, 7400N has four NAND gates, so using this option means each time you place a 7400N you place a different one of its NAND gates.
- Continuous placement radio button—Select to place multiple components of the same type without returning to the Select a Component dialog box. Each time you click on the workspace, another instance of the same component is placed. Press <Esc> to end continuous placement.
- In the Symbol standard box:
- Select the symbol set to use for components (ANSI Y32.2 or IEC 60617). The graphic changes to represent the selected symbol set.
- Select the following in the View box as desired:
- Show line to component when moving its text checkbox.
- Show line to original location when moving parts checkbox.
