Complete the following steps to change the name of a placed bus:

  1. Double-click on the placed bus to display the Bus Properties dialog box.
  2. Select the Bus name tab.

    The Currently used bus name box displays the Bus name and the Name source. This fields are for information only and cannot be edited.

  3. Enter the desired bus name in the Preferred bus name field.

If another bus is already using this name, the Resolve Duplicate Bus Name dialog box displays.

Complete the following if the Resolve Duplicate Bus Name dialog box displays for bus names that are being resolved on the same sheet:

  1. Select one of:
    • Virtually connect the buses—Assigns the same name to both buses (in this example, Bus2). They will therefore be connected virtually.
    • Rename “Bus1” to “Bus2_1”—The name of this radio button changes depending on the bus that you are renaming, and the duplicate name.

If the Resolve Duplicate Bus Name dialog box displays for bus names that are being resolved are on different pages, it contains a message similar to the following:

Click Rename to accept the changes.
