Use the Advanced RefDes Configuration dialog box to assign as few IC packages as possible to multi-section components, and to optimize the use of their gates.

You can also use this dialog to renumber components to eliminate gaps in the numbering sequence.

Complete the following steps to optimize the design so that multi-section components are used as efficiently as possible:

  1. Select Tools»Advanced RefDes configuration.
  2. Click Optimize gates.

Complete the following steps to renumber the components in a design:

  1. Select Tools»Advanced RefDes configuration.
  2. Click Renumber.

    The reference designators are renumbered in numeric sequence.
